MPO and type 1 diabetes mellitus: We showed significant differences in the myeloperoxidase level that was higher in both diabetic groups in comparison with controls (p = 0.012), hsCRP, higher in T1D and HD(+) compared to T1D and HD(–) (Figure 3A), and to the control groups (p < 0.001), as well as in the vitamin D level, which we found lower in both diabetic groups compared to healthy ones (p < 0.001) (Figure 3B, Table 2).
