Suppression of TXNIP was also more directly observed as liver metastases diverged from the primary tumor using previously constructed phylogenetic trees33 for a subset of patients with adequate sampling and tumor purities (Fig. 1g, Supplementary Fig. 2e–f), with immunohistochemical (IHC) confirmation on a subset of samples with available matched formalin-fixed tissue sections (Fig. 1g, right panels).
