We suspected rectal cancer owing to symptoms of the presence of a bloody or mucoid stool (13 patients, 44.8%), abdominal pain/diarrhea (8 patients, 27.6%), CEA elevations during cervical cancer follow-up (7 patients, 24.1%), and the presence of rectovaginal fistula (2 patients, 6.9%). This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and cervical carcinoma.
