In general, 24 studies confirmed discrete biologic and body composition changes in patients with psoriatic disease, which correlated positively with other indicators of metabolic syndrome, including waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, weight, BMI, plasma concentrations of low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, leptin and apolipoprotein-B (apo-B). This evidence concerns the gene APOB and metabolic syndrome.
