The genes represented by the age‐DMRs included a few notable members such as Cyp46a1 and Abca7, which are involved in cholesterol metabolism and implicated in Alzheimer's disease (Carter, 2007), and few members of the WNT signaling and mesenchyme developmental pathways (e.g., Fzd1, Fzd8, Wnt5a, Jak3, Ptk7, Nrp2). Here, WNT5A is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
