Normalization with a RG which shows varying expression across samples can often lead to wrong conclusions as seen with the use of Glyceraldehyde-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GAPDH) as RG in gene expression studies of pulmonary tuberculosis [14] and CD8+ T-cells under inactivated or activated condition [15]. The gene discussed is GAPDH; the disease is pulmonary tuberculosis.
