Recent study demonstrated that ER protein TXNDC5 augments myocardial fibrosis by facilitating extracellular protein folding [38], in agreement with this study, we observed that cisplatin up regulation of TXNDC5 was attenuated by nHNK treatment, the reduced type I collagen and (αSMA)+ fibroblasts in the testis likely promoted extracellular protein folding process as described by Shih et al.
