Braunschweig et al. (2013) reported that maternal reactivity to any of the seven intracellular antigens was significantly associated with an outcome of autism in a cohort of 395 (OR = 3.26) and increased incidence of stereotypic behaviour was observed in children of mothers with LDH, CRMP1 and STIP1 reactivity, supporting the rhesus macaque experiments reported by Martin et al. (2008) [18]. This evidence concerns the gene CRMP1 and autism.
