Downregulation of the cell adhesion molecule CDH1 (E-cadherin), and upregulation of its transcriptional repressors, such as ZEB1, ZEB2, SNAIL-1 and TWIST, in BLCa is associated with a poor prognosis and high risk of metastasis in BLCa [120,126]. This evidence concerns the gene CDH1 and bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
