Significantly reduced breast cancer cell proliferation was observed upon treatment with NCT502, a recently described inhibitor of the SBP (Pacold et al, 2016), in four out of the eight cell lines tested (ZR‐75‐1, T47D, MDA‐MB‐468 and HCC1143), while its PHGDH inactive form only had an effect in T47D cells (Fig EV5A). The gene discussed is PHGDH; the disease is breast carcinoma.
