The two groups did not differ in the incidence of AKI (HES, 15.2% vs. albumin, 20.8%: OR, 0.69; 95% CI, 0.45–1.05), worsening stage of AKI (OR, 1.49; 95% CI, 0.97–2.28), the incidence of RRT (HES, 2.4% vs. albumin, 2.1%), or 30-day mortality (HES, 2.1% vs. albumin 4.5%). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and acute kidney injury.
