Randomized, controlled clinical trials for the prevention of stroke in patients with AF demonstrated that DOACs are at least as safe and effective as vitamin K antagonists. One such study, the ENGAGE AF‐TIMI 48 (Effective Anticoagulation with Factor Xa Next Generation in AF‐Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction 48) trial, demonstrated the noninferiority of edoxaban (EDX) to WFR based on the low incidence of stroke, systemic embolism, and bleeding.4 Here, F10 is linked to atrial fibrillation.
