This review describes the effects of hypoxia on the expression of only 22 representatives of the β chemokine family, as four of them (CCL6/C10, CCL9/CCL10/MIP-1γ, and CCL12/MCP-5) are murine chemokines not present in human tumors, along with a lack of data on the effect of hypoxia on the expression of CCL14/hemofiltrate CC chemokine (HCC)-1 and CCL23/CKβ8 in cancer and tumor-associated cells. This evidence concerns the gene CCL23 and neoplasm.
