By real-time PCR (RT-PCR), we proved that the expression of pro-inflammatory interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-8 chemokines, known to be upregulated in CF [25], were significantly reduced by Myr, in both basal conditions and in A. fumigatus-infected CF cells, whereas the expression of anti-inflammatory IL-10 was upregulated by the compound (Figure 8A–C). The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is cystic fibrosis.
