Although patients in the NT-proBNP-guided therapy group were discharged with significantly lower NT-proBNP levels (reduction of >30% in 80%, vs. 64% in control group, p = 0.001), this reduction in NT-proBNP did not improve mortality rates or the number of HF readmissions at 3 months or at 6 months, suggesting that NT-proBNP guided therapy does not have additional value to standardised care [29].
