Most importantly, multivariate Cox regression analysis identified TYW2 hypermethylation as an independent predictor of shorter overall survival in early-stage colorectal cancer (HR = 2.69; 95% CI = 1.13 to 6.41; P = 0.026) (Fig. 4B) compared with other patient characteristics that also have been associated with the clinical outcome (Fig. 4B). This evidence concerns the gene TYW2 and colorectal cancer.
