During the course of our study, we noticed that there are some studies reported that miR-181c-5p can attenuate excessive neuroinflammation through directly targeting the 3′-untranslated region of TNFα mRNA, suppressing its mRNA and protein expression in rat microglial cells after ischemia injury [15], which is opposite to our findings that miR-181c-5p exerts proinflammatory effect through enhanced NFκB signalling in cardiomyocytes. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and ischemia.
