Plumbagin can induce ROS, G2/M arrest, apoptosis, and autophagy in addition to reversing Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transitions (EMT) and cancer stem cell characteristics via inhibiting PI3K/Akt/mTOR, GLUT-1, MAPK, and Nrf2 signaling pathways of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) in vitro and in vivo [235–237]. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and cancer.
