A recently introduced compound, sacubitril-valsartan (SV) (LCZ696), combines the moieties of an ARB and a neprilysin inhibitor (sacubitril) and has recently been shown to be superior to an ACE inhibitor (enalapril) in reducing the risk of death and of hospitalization for HF, both in the acute and chronic setting [68, 82]. The gene discussed is MME; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
