Our results may also appear to be in contradiction with results obtained in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells, in which RhoA silencing reduced cell invasiveness by reducing the mRNA expression of SCN5A and therefore NaV1.5-mediated sodium current, thus indicating that RhoA could exerts a tonic effect on the expression of Nav1.5 in these cancer cells60. This evidence concerns the gene SCN5A and cancer.
