To address the specific regulation of the NaV1.5 channel, encoded by the SCN5A gene, which has been previously identified as an important enhancer of SW620 cancer cell invasiveness30,31, we developed two cell lines derived from SW620, one stably expressing a small hairpin RNA specific for targeting SCN5A gene expression (shNaV1.5) and the other stably expressing a null-target small hairpin RNA (shCTL). The gene discussed is SCN5A; the disease is cancer.
