CXCL8, also known as IL-8, is a member of the C-X-C family of chemokines that is produced by many types of cells including leukocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and malignant cancer cells, and play a various spectrum of biological effects in cell functions through interaction with its G protein-coupled receptors, CXCR1 and CXCR2 [11,12]. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is cancer.
