We identified 293 differentially expressed proteins in sarcoidosis (n = 10) compared to the seven control subjects (Supplemental Table S3; Sarcoidosis vs Control tab), Fig. 3B. These proteins included chitotriosidase-1, serum amyloid protein P, surfactant protein D, S100P, inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor, annexin, glutathione-S-transferase, interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein, cystatin-5, caveolin, choline transport protein, Fc-gamma RII-a, (Fcγ-binding protein), interleukin 6 receptor, programmed cell death 1 ligand 2, and aquaporin-1. The gene discussed is S100P; the disease is sarcoidosis.
