The area of GFAP staining in the white matter also increased significantly in the spinal cords after administration of CHIT-1 or ALS-CSF (*p < 0.05 C50 vs. NC; **p < 0.01 C100, C200, C500, ALS vs. NC and $$p < 0.01 buffer vs. C50, C100, C200, C500 and ALS) (Fig. 3a–g, l). This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
