Briefly, basal/squamous subtype is mainly composed of advanced stage tumors and metastatic disease, being enriched in inactivating mutations and deletions of TP53 and RB1, whereas the luminal subtype is associated with papillary histopathological features, and enriched in fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) mutations [26, 27].
