Here, we propose, for the first time, that retinal pericyte activation into CAFs is mediated by STAT3 phosphorylation and nuclear translocation following uveal melanoma interaction (Figure 6) as indicated by the increased number of positive nuclei for phospho-STAT3 in HRPC cocultured with 92.1UM (Figure 4D,E). This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and uveal melanoma.
