RENBP and infection: Subsequent studies have demonstrated that both low affinity natural Ab as well as high affinity IgG and IgA antibodies generated via germinal center (GC) reactions after infection can neutralize/inhibit virus infection via various methods: these include direct binding of predominantly hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) to limit the initial infection of, or spread of the infection to additional host cells, as well as the ligation of Fc receptors resulting in the activation of complement, Ab-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and Ag uptake and processing [10,16,17].
