The High-mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1), as a pro-inflammation factor in the downstream of NLRP3 inflammasome, has been proved to facilitate the secretion of IL-8 and CXCL16 in keratinocytes which contributed remarkably to the pathogenesis of vitiligo (Cui et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL16 and vitiligo.
