In this study, we found that ZFP91 is a suppressor for HCC aerobic glycolysis, cell proliferation and metastasis by K48-ubiquitinating and degrading oncoprotein hnRNP A1, expanding upon its previously reported role as an oncogene in AML, prostate and colon cancers in which ZFP91 promotes cancer cell proliferation and tumorigenesis by ubiquitinating and stabilizing NIK to activate the NF-κB pathway 29-32. This evidence concerns the gene ZFP91 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
