Some of the highly connected genes in the purple module have previously been related to mastitis development including NFKBIZ (Compton et al., 2009), NFKBIA, CXCL2, GRO1 (Li et al., 2019), CXCL3 (Rainard et al., 2008), LPIN1 (Moyes et al., 2009), and DAB2 (Banos et al., 2017).
