A number of studies have shown that EFNB2 and its receptor EPHB4 are transcriptionally upregulated in colon cancer carcinoma cell lines and in colon cancer tissue as compared to adjacent mucosa, supporting a role of EFNB2 in carcinogenesis potentially through modulation of angiogenic signals, even though the exact mechanisms remain to be fully elucidated [25]. Here, EPHB4 is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
