PIK3CA and thyroid gland carcinoma: Dysregulation of multiple signaling pathways, such as mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI3K), receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK), and Wingless/Integrated (WNT), has been reported to contribute toward the pathogenesis of thyroid cancer and is generally associated with the genetic alterations of genes involved in these pathways [7].
