Taken together, it is plausible to say that Betatrophin has an anticancer effect onthe pancreatic cancer cell lines used in this study, MiaPaca-II and Panc-1, byinhibiting cell growth and increasing WIF1 gene expression, whichsubsequently reduces Wnt signaling as a decisive pathway in proliferation. The gene discussed is ANGPTL8; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
