Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) overexpression/mutation is a common feature of many types of cancer including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), gastrointestinal cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), cervical cancer, etc., and contributes to malignant proliferation/metastasis [1–4]. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
