Hypoparathyroidism (HypoPT) is an endocrine disorder, with a prevalence of 10 to 40 cases per a population of 100 000 in the United States and European countries, in which production of parathyroid hormone (PTH) by the parathyroid gland is absent or inappropriately low (1–6). This evidence concerns the gene PTH and hypoparathyroidism.
