In consideration of the high expression of ABHD11 in lung cancer (Wiedl et al., 2011; Heinonen et al., 2015) and the key roles of both elevated de novo lipid biosynthesis and increased glycolysis in cancer (DeBerardinis and Chandel, 2016), it is crucial to establish whether ABHD11 contributes to malignancy and whether its inhibition can block tumor growth. Here, ABHD11 is linked to lung carcinoma.
