In the last ten years, with the development of molecular biology, several ccRCC driver genes such as von Hippel–Lindau (VHL) and PBRM1 have been discovered [8, 9], and targeted drugs, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) [10], have been developed to treat these advanced ccRCC patients; however, not all of these patients can benefit from these drugs. This evidence concerns the gene VHL and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
