In categorical analysis with a conventional cutoff point of heart failure, an NT-proBNP level ≥1,800 pg/mL was significantly associated with all-cause mortality in individuals aged ≥105 years, but not in individuals aged 85–99 years, or 100–104 years, because of the relatively small number of such individuals with high levels of NT-proBNP in younger cohorts (Supplementary Table 9). Here, NPPB is linked to heart failure.
