Further differences between the two groups were observed for medications and comorbidities: insulin therapy was more frequent in people with a severe hypoglycaemic episode (absolute difference 28.7%), as well as a medical history of cancer (absolute difference 2.7%), myocardial infarction (5.7%), peripheral artery disease (9.1%), atrial fibrillation (12.9%), heart failure (14.5%) or stroke (15.1%).
