In women, the relationship between plasma S1P levels and CAN was statistically significant (odds ratio [OR] per SD increase in the log-transformed value, 0.40; 95% CI, 0.23–0.70, p = 0.001) after adjustment for age, BMI, HDL-C, LDL-C, triglycerides, hypertension, A1C, hs-CRP, diabetes duration, retinopathy, and nephropathy (model 3).
