Similarly, reduced E-cadherin and CD24 and increased vimentin, CD44, and Snail were also observed in MDA-MB-468 cells – another PTEN-negative breast cancer cell line with a 44-bp deletion in the PTEN gene, which results in frameshifting and loss of the PTEN protein (Fig. 1E)18,52.
