To determine this possibility, we cotransfected HCC cells with β-catenin S33Y and siRNAs targeting CD147 and found that CD147 silence-induced cathepsin B protein (Fig. 8a-b) and CTSB mRNA (Fig. 8c-d) downregulation were restored by β-catenin S33Y overexpression. Here, CTSB is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
