Frailty in patients with stage I–stage III colorectal cancer was associated with advanced age, low body mass index, poor American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classification, proximal colon cancer, high serum carcinoembryonic antigen and carbohydrate antigen 19‐9 levels, advanced disease stage, lower preoperative prognostic nutritional index, large volume of intraoperative bleeding, and absence of adjuvant chemotherapy (all P < .005). The gene discussed is CEACAM5; the disease is colorectal cancer.
