These findings combined with our data suggest that p53 status is not important for the hyperthermia-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis of platinum-based drugs, MMC or 5-FU, thus further research on the p53 status on more CRC cell lines and patient biopsies is needed to confirm the irrelevance of p53 status for HIPEC for PMCRC patients. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and colorectal carcinoma.
