In a previous study, it was reported that thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP), an activator of NOD, LRR, and PYD domains-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, is associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and T1DM (Wang et al., 2013). Here, NLRP3 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
