Recently, we reported that the application of a TAT-Cx43266-283 peptide that mimics the effect of Cx43 on c-Src inhibition reduces the growth and invasion of human glioma stem cells in immunodeficient mice, without adversely affecting neurons and astrocytes [33]; similarly, the TAT-Cx43 peptide reduces the invasiveness of mouse glioma cells GL261 in an immunocompetent mouse model [33]. This evidence concerns the gene SRC and central nervous system cancer.
