Other colleagues have put forward hypotheses suggesting that the properties of pentoxifylline in relation to: (a) renin‐angiotensin‐aldosterone (RAS), (b) platelets and related coagulopathy and (c) rheological effects where there are microcirculatory disturbances, could all be important factors for the beneficial use of pentoxifylline as a therapeutic agent for COVID‐19.
