Clerodendrum volubile has also been reported to exhibit potential role in the management of human breast cancer by inhibiting cell cycle phases, especially the G0/G1 phase, cell proliferation, and decreasing the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 9 enzymes [33], as well as the ability of its extracts to scavenge free radicals, especially reactive oxygen species, generated by human breast cancer cell lines in vitro [33] and its antiproliferative activity against prostate cancer cells [34].
