TIAL1 is a negative regulator of BRCA1: it is shown to block translation, and at least in chronic myeloid leukemia cells, reduce the protein expression of BRCA1 which leads to aneuploidy, spindle toxin resistance, and genomic instability (Deutsch et al., 2003; Wolanin et al., 2010; Podszywalow-Bartnicka et al., 2014).
