Indeed, genetic polymorphisms of the TNFAIP3 gene have been described in several autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, type 1 diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), coronary artery disease and celiac disease39–44. The gene discussed is TNFAIP3; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
