Synaptic proteins such as synaptosomal-associated protein 25 (SNAP-25) and synaptotagmin-1 (SYT1) were found to be significantly increased in the CSF of AD dementia and prodromal AD patients; however, SNAP-25 and SYT1 were specified to decline in cortical areas [88,89].
